The specimen is wernerite, also known as scapolite, from Canada.

The first image was taken under a long wave light. There is a strong yellow fluorescence to the wernerite (scapolite) in the specimen. The other white mineral in the specimen is reflecting the long wave light and is not fluorescing blue. It will appear black to deep blue under your own light.

The second image below was taken under short wave ultraviolet light. It has a lighter shade of yellow. An interesting note to this mineral is that, due to its exposure to short wave ultraviolet light, it will phosphoresce for a short while after the lights are turned off.

For other images of this mineral, go back to the main fluorescent page and click on the view specimen material from Canada link.
