Ohio fluorescent minerals
The specimens shown at right are from Clay Center, Ohio. The specimens are fluorite on a matrix of celestine. The fluorite has an amber color in normal light and the celestine is clear to white. The specimens in the middle column fluoresce white when exposed to long wave ultraviolet light. The photos at the far right show a light blue-white fluorescence under short wave ultraviolet light. Under both fluorescent lights there is kind of a halo within the crystals along the crystal edge.
