This specimen is from the Hogan Mine in Arizona.
The specimen below was photographed under a long wave ultraviolet light. Some of the blue is due to reflection of the light off the normally white to light tan stone. Some of the blue is due to fluorite which fluoresces blue under long wave ultra violet light.
The first image was photographed under short wave ultraviolet light. The colors in the first image are red-calcite, blue-fluorite, and green willemite.
To see what specimens from this location look like under normal light, return to the main fluorescent page and select the view specimen material from Arizona link.
An additional feature of the material from the Hogan Mine in Arizona is that the willemite in the specimen will phosphoresce after the short wave light is turned off. In a totally dark room, I have timed the phosphorescence of pieces from this location for over 30 minutes.
