The fluorescent minerals in the specimen are aragonite and chalcedony from the Big Horn Mountains, Wyoming.
The first image was taken under a short wave ultraviolet light. The aragonite fluoresces an electric white. Any chalcedony will fluoresce a light green. Any purple areas are the reflection of the short wave light off the normally white to light tan non-fluorescing minerals of the specimen. Additionally, the aragonite will phosphoresce for 5 to 10 seconds after exposure to short wave UV light.
The second image below was taken under long wave ultraviolet light. The aragonite will fluoresce a creamy white to yellow under long wave ultraviolet light. The shades of purple color are due to the long wave light reflecting off the light colored minerals in the specimen (including the chalcedony) which do not fluorescence under long wave.
