The fluorite fluoresces white when exposed to long wave ultraviolet light as shown in the first image.
The fluorite in the specimen fluoresces a light blue-white under short wave ultraviolet light. Under both fluorescent lights there is kind of a halo within the crystals along the crystal edge. The purple color is the reflection of the lights off the light colored matrix.
