Some of the more common phyla are Arthropoda (insects, spiders, crustaceans, extinct trilobites and eurypterids, etc.), Molluska (snails, clams, octopuses, extinct ammonites, etc.), Coelenterata (jellyfish, sea anemones, corals, etc.), Porifera (sponges), Brachiopoda, and Echinodermata (starfish, crinoids, sea urchins, etc.).
