Cretolamna appendiculata is an extinct mackerel shark that lived from the Cretaceous through the early Eocene Epoch (140-55 million years ago). It may have been an ancestor of the present day great white and mako sharks. It preyed upon fish, mesosaurs, squid, turtles, and other sharks.
This specimen is from the phosphate beds of Khourigba, Morocco.
