These shark teeth are from the phospate pits in Morocco.
Shark teeth are identified by their shape and varying characteristics of each species. Serratolamna teeth are one of the easier teeth to identify. They have a fairly broad main tooth with two small-broad cusps (the little teeth to the side of the main tooth) on either side of the main tooth. These small cusps usually curve away from the main tooth. Small Serratolamna teeth may be confused with large Carcharias amonensis teeth since they also have two small cusps on either side of the main tooth. The difference is that with the Carcharias amonensis teeth the small cusps are more parallel to the main tooth and more rounded and less broad.
These shark teeth are sold in lots of 100 pieces for $50.00. Specimens for the Genus: Serratolamna may include any or all of the Species: asheroni, koerti, lerichei, or serrate.
