Paranomotodon is an extinct thresher shark. They lived from the Cretaceous through the Eocene Epoch (140 - 55 million years ago). Their teeth are identified by the small blade or cusp on either side of the main tooth. The main tooth will frequently lean to one side or the other. The lean of the tooth will usually be towards the back of the mouth. So, it will indicate whether it is a left or right tooth and larger teeth are usually found as upper teeth. But larger teeth may also indicate a larger shark.
This specimen is from the phosphate beds of Khourigba, Morocco.
