This copal specimen from Madagascar contains at least two dozen insects and one very small spider along with miscellaneous insect parts (from the ones that got away). They are represented by the Class: Arachnida (spiders), and the Class: Insecta (insects) and Orders: Coleoptera (pin-hole borers/platypus beetle), Diptera (flies, gnats, midges), Hymenoptera (ants).
The spider may be located by positioning the specimen with the flat end to the right and the rounded side to the bottom. The small spider is located about 5/16 of an inch in from the right side of the specimen, in this position. There is possibly part of a mayfly on the other side of the specimen in approximately the same position.
Critters from the Class Arachnida (spiders) have eight legs while those from the Class Insecta (insects) have six legs.
