This fossil wood is from the Platte Valley and Elbert County areas of Colorado. Coloration will vary from light to dark browns with some areas filled with a black or white agate. Some pieces may contain quartz crystals.
Species of trees from this area include: beech, cedar, cottonwood, cycad, fir, hickory, maple, oak, palm, sequoia, and walnut.
