Squalicorax pristodontus was an extinct crow shark. Squalicorax is a name that is derivied from both Latin (squalo-for shark) and Greek (corax-for raven). It was a genus of extinct lamniform sharks which lived during the Cretaceous Period (140-70 million years ago). Based on the size of the teeth, it is estimated to have grown to a length of about 16.5 feet.
Squalicorax was a scavanger as well as a predator who's food sources included bony fishes, ichthyosaurs, mosasaurs, turtles, and other sea creatures.
